How much is that stock rebuild going to cost you with shipping and paying someone competant to install it? Not cheap. $700 shipping + $2500 installation (which would be CHEAP for motor pull, tear down to bare longblock, prep for shipping, get new motor, prep from bare longblock to drop in, install) + $650 120k kit + what? $3000 for a stock rebuild? I agree, but this guy is going to be in for a bare minimum $12k to get his car decent... Or he could sell it for 2k and take that 15k and find a cream puff. If it were me, that's not a hard choice. $6200 to get a good stock rebuild? at that price you are insane not tossing a set of pistons at least at it. maybe $1200 used motor + 350 60k kit + $1000 in labor= $2550 +to roll dice on a jspec? It would take space to work, time, tools, and a desire to learn if not mechanical ability to make keeping it make sense and that doesn't sound like this guy.

Putting AMS garbage, and $500 ebay wheels on a Z is like dressing a Victorias Secret model in a Walmart dress and Payless shoes. You're embarrassing yourself. |
